Car Thief Idol: Cadillac Escalade

Cadillac Escalade appears to be a favorite of thieves in America. This is evident from many insurance claims for loss of the vehicle according to the Highway Loss Data Institute (HLDI).

"Escalade continues to shoot, starch HLDI theft top the list, followed by the Ford F-250, Infiniti G37, V8 version of the Dodge Charger and Chevrolet Corvette Z06," wrote Insideline.

HLDI is an affiliate of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, a subsidiary of U.S. insurance industry.

Their job is to measure the rate at which people make insurance claims for car theft, and perform calculations for the payment of claims.

The formula used is more complicated than that used by the FBI, the National Insurance Crime Bureau and other organizations that usually only measure the total number of stolen vehicles and tend to be biased towards models with high sales volumes such as the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry.
